Monarch Award update

In presentations on the Monarch Award, there is always a desire to share what YOU are doing to promote the Monarch Award and the books. This blog is being created to provide a venue for sharing.

Currently we are finishing the 2009 Award year with voting taking place in February.

We are also busy reading and choosing the Master List for 2010. To tap into all things about the Monarch Award visit our website at http://www.islma.org/monarch.htm

Hope to see your great ideas soon!

  1. OUR K-3 STUDENTS VOTED FOR THEIR FAVORITE BOOK FROM THE '09 LIST, AND WE PARTIED IN THE LIBRARY WITH JUICE AND FRUIT ROLL UPS. I SHARED ONE OF THE 2010 BOOKS WITH A GROUP OF 2ND GRADERS, AND PLAN TO START SHARING MORE NEXT WEEK. WE HAD 150 KIDS PARTICIPATE IN THE '09 VOTE, WHICH IS NEARLY 100% OF OUR POPULATION. ONE CLASS READ/LISTENED TO ALL 20 BOOKS AND WILL BE ENJOYING AN EXTRA LIBRARY TIME WITH ALL KINDS OF MONARCH FUN!
